Welcome! We are back to school!
UDIS inspires internationally-minded, balanced
learners who thrive and become active global citizens.
This is our first weekly blog this year. One will be sent home at the end of each week (Friday)
This has been a settling and exciting week for all of us. I am so delighted to know all these wonderful children in K1. This week we explored our classroom and getting to know each other.
As part of the settling in process, we covered a series of learning engagements to help familiarise the learners with the classroom and the daily routines that include our wellbeing/meditation and self- registration. The learners have been getting to know each other and the teachers a bit more and are beginning to feel a bit more settled in each other's company. They are also getting to know the Early Years environment well.
Here are a few pictures to show how well the learners settled in the K1 Classroom environment!
We read the book ' We listen and don't interrupt' as part of the 'Golden Rules' (Essential agreements) process.

We also read 'Elmer' and tuned into what makes Emer special and unique. We looked at all the colours on Elmer and created our collage.
Next Week
Continue developing our Golden Rules and introduce Golden Time every Friday. This is to provide an opportunity and also to build confidence in our learners. We will celebrate our success every end of the week where learners will given a choice to choose something they want to do!
