Unit of Inquiry/In Literacy/Talk4Writing
- Going Further
Transdisciplinary Theme
How the world works
Central Idea: Materials behave and interact in certain ways, which determine how people use them.
Lines of Inquiry :
Behaviour of materials
Changing properties of materials
Manipulation and application of materials to new purposes
This week we did an experiment on our Mung beans and how seeds grow. We then started looking at the growth of the seeds each day and were surprised to see how fast they grow. We are also beginning to understand the needs for living things and how can we care for them.
Next week in UOI, we are moving forward with Float or Sink.
- We will inquire about objects that float and that don't.
-We will also inquire and find out if a tin foil can hold a number of marbles to float?
-We will use lego and stones to experiment with floating
Communication and Language/Phonics
See Tapestry for this. All the pictures and observations have been added and scheduled for parents.
Next Week: Talking about sounds
- Which one? Can we recognise the objects and say the initial sound
- Cross the river
- I SPY
In Mathematics
This week we focused on counting objects to 10 and matched the correct numbers.
Next Week: Ten little dinosaurs
Puppet counting with small world area
Count and circle how many?
Count how many in the picture?
Use a pocket chart to count and add numbers
In Thai
This week in Thai, learners explore how the world works by dressing the outlines using natural materials. We focused on using our thinking skills creatively and think about different dressings as we move around different seasons.
In PE
This week we had a chance to learn more about striking skills using different implements, such as a swimming pool noodle to control small balls. In addition, we learned about jumping and balancing skills using our trampoline, jumping ropes, and hula hoops.
