Unit of Inquiry: How we organise ourselves

Central Idea:  People play different roles in the communities to which they belong.

Concepts: causation, function, responsibility

Task: Learners were  given a choice of action ideas to showcase what they want to be when they grow up.

Task choice included:
-- Create a piece of art
-- Put together a diorama
-- Video
-- Poster

Most of the learners chose video, they felt comfortable and confident using their actions and voice to showcase their ideas and thoughts.  During the Unit learners were given different provocations to see how community helpers help us and why? What is our responsibility? How can we help in our classroom community? How can we help at home?

Learners were able to identify and explain who, what, when and where their helper makes a difference within the community.

Thai
This week in our Thai class, we learnt the alphabet "จ". Preschool had a chance to create their food on the plate for "จ". K1 happily worked on writing the alphabet and learnt the words that start with "จ". We also learnt the great story called "ดาวลูกไก่" (The Chick Star). We enjoyed creating our own stars and retelling the story with friends in Thai.
